1 A Quick Visit... (Silv) on Tue May 29, 2012 9:02 pm

Artemis had been feeling rather dizzy of late, and she had moments where she couldn't seem to keep anything down. In fact, she had been having this problem for a while now, and usually it didn't get in the way TOO much of her weyrling duties.. however, on this particular day she had found herself just about falling over a couple times... and at one point she actually DID almost cut herself while prepping for Jadziath's second meal of the day.

~What is wrong with you, Artemis-mine?~ the hatchling demanded, rather upset that her bonded seemed to be having so many problems.

At this particular point, Artemis was sitting on the ground. "I just need a moment, Jadz. It feels kinda..." and with that she vomited up the meal she had eaten recently. After she was done, she picked herself up and held onto the green next to her. ~Perhaps we should go see Silvara... she might be able to figure out what's wrong...~

Jadziath agreed and the two of them went to look for the woman, hoping that she was still around so that they could get the answers they needed. After all, it wasn't every day that one found themselves feeling nauseous, dissy and more than a little fatigued.

Silvara was in the Academy Smithy working on some her your Journey-Woman work even though she was still Apprentice rank on the records. She was doing simple ingot shaping for the time being using the ring of the hammer to meditate some. Still reeling from her walk of the tables from Journey-Woman Healer to a full Master. That and getting used to her new work cycle since her new rank also meant that she would be spending more time at the academy then before.

"Slow deep breaths... Slow deep breaths... So what that I am going to be here at the academy more where my crush is... and that I will most likely have to interact with her more. So what that I also have to deal with a great deal more people many of who are young-lings who are still working on getting emotionally level... I can do this..."

She was muttering to herself again and she knew it but other wise she felt like a trapped critter. She had intentionally moved to snowy because it was so mellow and the people were relatively calm and mellow. Warrelith who was lurking in the back of her head snorted at this point and spoke.

::Mine stop fretting. Your shielding techniques are flawless and you have not had a major incident in years. You handled the hatching with out incident! Also the Master’s would not have had you walk the tables if they did not feel you were ready. There is also the fact that you are the expert of the Gifts so just breathe and accept that you can do this all ready… Before you give me a headache... ::

Silv paused for a second listening to his words and clamed her heart. The largest issue she had was her own skittishness about being in the spot light as it were, but she had a job to do and a duty to uphold. She smiled and sent back soothing thoughts and a sorry since she had not meant to give him a head ache with her own worries. He just grumbled back that she needed to stop worrying so much and that he was liking being around so many other dragons. That made her grin, more and relax. Returning her focus to the metal and the task at hand since she might be a Master healer now but she still had a lot of work to go on her smithing although she would need to speak with her teachers about that since she had remained at the Apprentice level this long because she was working on her Mastery in Healing. For now though she would just take things one step at a time.

Artemis had Jazz lead her to the infirmary, the hatchling walking easily at her side and hoping that her bonded would be alright. When they arrived to find Silvara missing, Artemis frowned and was about to request that Jazz ask Werrileth when something hit her. All of the sudden she couldn't see in front of her, instead... she saw Silvara in the smith, working on metal. A second later her sight returned to her with a gasp... and more vomit. That was DEFINITELY unnerving.

A few moments later, and after much discussion with Jadziath, the two of them headed to the smith and peeked inside to see if the healer was inside. The girl still felt dizzy, and in fact she was leaning rather heavily on her dragon. "Silvara?" she called questioningly.

Silvara had gotten into the motions of the smithing when suddenly she felt the room try and spin to the right. She went ridged not wanting to hit herself or the hot metal badly or worse. It took a few seconds after that for her to realize that the dizziness was not her own and she quickly blocked it out of her head so she could focus hearing Artemis's voice calling her name. With great care she set her hammer down, grabbed her tongues, picked up the metal ingot and dropped it in a near bucket knowing that she was done smithing for the time being if what she was picking up from Artemis was even just scratching the surface. Turning around she looked to the young woman and her Dragonet with a soft smile.

“Seems you’re in need of some help youngling, why don’t we head back to the infirmary… slowly so you’re not sick… again.”

Her Empathy was keenly aware of the young woman’s distress and dizziness. So with care Silv made her way over to her strengthening her shields before reaching out to help steady Artemis so they could head back to the infirmary.

“What other symptoms beyond dizziness and vomiting have you been feeling and for how long?”

She asked softly in a soothing voice needing to find out as much as she could.

Artemis watched as the woman appeared, uncertain as to HOW she had managed to find the woman with some weird vision thing was beyond her... but she didn't really question it TOO much. Least of all since she felt incredibly out of sorts. Easily she accepted the help as Jazz watched the woman approach her rider and led the way back to the infirmary.

At the woman's question, Artemis thought for a moment. "I've been feeling rather tired a lot lately... and, I don't know if this is related, but when I went to the infirmary to find you I got some weird vision thing that told me to look at the smith for you..." she admitted to the woman.

Jazz snorted, ~I certainly hope seeing random things like that doesn't make you sick like this all the time. It is very disturbing when I cannot eat.~ the green grumbled her annoyance.

Silvara nodded her head at thee words from Artemis sifting what she was hearing from both Weyrling and Dragonet as well as what she was picking up with her Empathy and Telepathy. Her Telepathy was far weaker then her Empathy but with physical touch that was made up for.

“The vision you had is a Gift called Far Sight and it should not be making you dizzy or nauseas… I think we have two separate issues to contend with here. Also Jadziath if you like once we reach the infirmary you can go sit on the dragon ledge just outside and Warrelith will share something tasty with you.”

::I hope you don’t mind Warrel but I really don’t need the added complication of a hungry dragonet while I sort out what is wrong here beyond this youngling coming into her gift.:: She mind sent to her own dragon. A slight smirk dancing across her lips as he grumbled a little but she could feel his good humor about the entire thing as he went to catch a couple of weyries that he could easily shred into small bites for the Weyrling to eat.

They soon turned a corner in the hall and came to the entry to the infirmary. Silvara quickly guided Artemis to a near cot to get her seated keenly aware of the dizziness the other was suffering from still and very glad that she had mastered shielding symptoms out of what she picked up from others while in physical contact.

Jazz seemed pleased with that answer and once her rider was settled onto the cot the little green hurried out to get food from the large blue. Or well, larger than her blue.

Artemis, for her part, sat on the cot and closed her eyes as she thought about the woman's response to her symptoms. "So, I have a gift that just developed... and something else is wrong with me too..." she worried a bit about the part that was making her tired, sick and dizzy.

"Yes... For now don't worry about your Gift. It will only manifest when you need to see something or in this case someone that is in a different location. I will teach you more about it latter for now..."

Once Artemis was laying down she sat on the cot with care next to her glad that Warrel was willing to look after the dragonet for now. She lightly placed her left hand on the girl’s temple using the contact to get a better “feel” for the other’s symptoms. The girl looked healthy enough on the outside but there was defiantly something wrong and it was not any of the normal culprits like over stress about one’s dragonet or bad food. Shifting how sat she lifted her cool fingers from the girls brow as she tilted her own head back thinking about what she was picking up from the other. Her hand accidently brushing over the other’s stomach as she turned back to stand.

At which point she was hit with a sharp jolt of the other’s nausea and dizziness but also a rather good idea as to why the other was having these issues. Her eyes went large as she stood only to sit back down.

“How? When? You should know better then to become intimate with a male while still a candidate or Weyrling… Shards… this is not going to go over well with H’lee… I think I know what’s wrong with you though I will call in one of the other healers who is specially trained for this sort of thing to confirm… but I think you’re pregnant.”

Artemis was rather happy that the blue was watching over Jazz as well, especially as it meant that her dragon was eating instead of complaining. However, no amount of comfort over that could have prepared her for what Silvara said next. Her eyes went wide and she looked at the woman, instantly stressed and scared. In fact, she was doing a wonderful job of freaking out right then. "But but, I can't be! I'm a weyrling! I can't get pregnant! What about Jazz! Oooooh.... Shards... and D'rick...." she worried as she thought about everything and knew instantly she was in a LOT of trouble. Not that it wouldn't be possible, she had spent that one day with him... but really it hadn't been planned! It just sort of.... happened.

Silvara reached out quickly catching Artemis by the arms and for the most part pinning her to the bed while using her gift to take most of the girls panic.

"BE CLAM! or do you want your dragon to have a fit?"

She fought to keep the emotions from over running her even as she got flashes of what had happened. It was all problematic but they would sort this out. These things did happen now and then. No one liked it when they did happen but some times slip ups were made. Slowly she loosened her hold on the girl when she felt that she was maybe a little less panicky.

"Breath slowly and deeply and don't let your emotions over run you or you will hurt Jazz. We will work this out but you have to breathe and not panic. That will only hurt your dragon, you, and the life inside of you. So please... just breath."

Her voice was calming as she spoke needing the other to get to a calmer state of being. Well if she wanted a test of her shields she just got it. Thankfully she had not been over run but she would be far happier when the other calmed, she also new that the little green would most likely be ripping into the room to check on her rider soon. Thankfully Warrel was linked to the little green so would be able to make explain what Silvara was doing and make sure she would not over react to Silvara's man handling of her rider for all their sakes.

Artemis was definitely freaking out, and finding herself pinned down and told to calm down wasn't really helping much... at least not until Jazz came darting into the room to see what was going on. The little dragon hissed her displeasure, pulling her rider from her panic. ~I'm okay, Jazz... go eat. I'm just... A little surprised and shocked, that's all,~ she tried to explain, tears coming to her eyes.

~You are not fine. You are upset, Artemis-mine. Why are you upset?~

~Because, Jazz, I screwed up badly and now I have a hatchling of my own growing inside me,~

~Is that what has been making you sick? I don't like it. Warrelith, can yours make the bad hatchling making mine sick out?~

~"NO!"~ the girl responded to her dragon, both mentally and verbally.

Silvara was glad that Jazz did not try and attack her while she was keeping Artemis pinned. She felt the other clam enough to relax her hold though not loosing the contact as she could hear the conversation better that way. She was a HAD but it was chaotic in when it worked. Reaching up she lightly stroked Artemis's brow hoping the gentle contact would help with calming the girl before speaking.

"No Jazz. I can't remove the hatchling. It would hurt Artemis if I were to do so. This sickness is actually rather common especially among younger females who's bodies are not fully ready to be mothers yet. Artemis please breathe deeply and calm down some more."

Warrelith mean while had poked his head inside and settled down to watch. He felt it needful for his rider for him to be closer.

"We all need to calm down. Artemis I know you did not mean for this to happen and I don't think D'rick meant for it to happen either. Accidents do happen but now we have to deal with the fall out of this. Your going to need to stay here in the infirmary for tonight at least while I get one of the Mid-Wife Healers to come and see how far along you are so we can make a guess as to how much longer your going to have to deal with this morning sickness... and don't let the name fool you it does not always show up in the morning. Once we know more I can give you some tea and herbs that will help control the symptoms so you can eat normally but you won't be able to do as much as you have been doing. It's dangerous to both you and the child and the added stress will also be bad for your Dragonet.”

She watched the younglings with care suddenly wishing that some other healer was here to help.

Jazz snorted her protest before she moved closer to her bonded and watched her. Artemis nodded her head, "What about my duties for today? I haven't bathed or oiled Jazz yet today," she worried softly, glancing down at her dragon.

Jadziath thought about this for a moment before she realized that she DID need to be bathed. ~I do itch, Artemis-mine~ she pointed out.

Silvara leaned back and laughed softly. She looked to Warrel with an indulgent look as she remembered those days well.

"If you promise to stay calm and take things slowly then Warrel and I will go with you to bathing pool so you can tend to Jazz. Then we come right back here. Ok?"

She knew how important it was to tend to one's dragon especially at these early stages of the bond. So for now it was better to help Artemis with tending her dragon rather then keeping her down. Standing up she moved to the side drawing one of the tea pots that was always kept warm in the healer hall and filled a cup with hot water after putting in special herbs to help Artemis's body calm down and not be dizzy. Slowly she walked back to the cot with the cup in hand to give to Artemis.

"Drink this slowly. It will help dispel the dizziness as well as cut the nausea."

Artemis looked to Silvara and nodded her head, "Okay, I'll stay calm. I think I'm better now anyways... I just wasn't expecting to find out I'm pregnant," she commented, taking slow breaths to keep herself calm as she watched the healer move to get some tea for her. Before long she was carefully sipping on it, and felt relieved as the dizziness and nausea seemed to go away.

~Let's go, Artemis-mine~ the hatchling demanded.

"Alright, we'll go, Jazz," she assured the dragon before carefully pushing herself off the bed, not moving far from it just in case. When she felt no dizziness, she couldn't stop the sigh of relief.
