Okay, this is a bit of a rant, but OMFG! You will not believe this.
I pulled out of my driveway and started down the street at my usual 15-20mph (second gear). Way up at the end of the street (1.5-2 blocks away), young kid (12? 13?) goes roaring out into the street, WITHOUT LOOKING and WITHOUT A HELMET, on his obviously brand-new bicycle which is about 3 inches too tall for him. He sees me coming and proceeds to stop his bike, IN THE MIDDLE OF MY LANE, hop off, and start shouting obscenities at me (I'm still half a block or more away from him). Since he's still standing in the middle of the road, I pull over into the left lane to go around him. He tries to lean into my MOVING car and tell me I'm a "fucking idiot."
Um...sure.
I wanted to stop my car, go up to the house, and tell his parents just what I thought of how he was behaving. If that was my kid, he'd have that brand-new bike returned to the store and be grounded for a month. Of course, if that was my kid, he'd never have done something that stupid...
