Lesson 4: Flight duties and aerial drills


Dragon age: 6 – 7 months


Topics covered in lessons:

  • How to clearly visualize places
  • Aerial drills

Mini Lessons:

  1. Aerial formation drill
  2. Weyrling duties

RP Ideas

  • Transporting goods and people between the Academy and the Holds (getting to know people, etc.)
  • Visualizing one object out of several and having your dragonet correctly pick it out
  • Being fitted for your new leathers and trying the finished product on
  • Aerial drills
  • Dragons are now the size of a standard railroad boxcar (slightly less than 2/3 their adult size)

Daily Schedule

(This is a guideline only and is intended to give you an idea of how a typical Weyrling’s day might go.)
  • 6:00 AM Wake up, breakfast, dawn feed and oiling of dragonets
  • 7:00 AM Calisthenics and laps
  • 7:30 AM Self-defense lessons
  • 8:00 AM Weapons practice
  • 8:30 AM Ground drills
  • 9:00 AM Aerial drills (including sandbag toss)
  • 11:30 AM Visualization practice
  • 12:00 PM Lunch
  • 1:00 PM Duties (Watchrider, Transport Duty or Messenger Duty) or Craft lessons
  • 3:00 PM Duties (Watchrider, Transport Duty or Messenger Duty) or Craft lessons
  • 5:00 PM Visualization practice
  • 6:00 PM Dragonets hunt, bathing and oiling
  • 7:00 PM Dinner
  • 8:00 PM Chores duties/assignments
  • 9:00 PM Free time
  • 10:00 PM Lights out
